ING Runners heeft op zondag 13 november, na afloop van de stadionloop, haar 40 jarig lustrum gevierd.

Dit hebben we gedaan in restaurant Osteria Bella Ciao met een mooi gezelschap van bestuur, oudere leden en nieuwe leden.

Zelf ga ik terug tot circa 2005 en ik heb mooie lopen gedaan met veel huidige en voormalig ING Runners. Mijn eerste marathon was Wenen 2012 met de ING Runners en toen waren het steenvast de verhalen van mooie reizen met New York als hoogtepunt.

Natuurlijk waren er de jaarlijks terugkerende hoogtepunten zoals Egmond, Zeven Heuvelen, Amsterdam, Linschoten, etc.

Het is goed te zien dat het ledenaantal weer groeit en de nieuwe leden enthousiast zijn. Dat geeft het huidig bestuur, wat al jaren energie in de club stopt, ook het plezier en de energie om de schouders er onder te blijven zetten. Namens de runners Dank hiervoor.   

Dan terug naar het diner. We werden ondanks mid November getrakteerd op heerlijk weer. Dus borrel en bruschetta op het terras. Dit smaakte erg goed na de geleverd prestaties tijdens de stadionloop. Aansluitend een meer dan uitstekend diner zoals Italianen dat kunnen verzorgen.

Het was naast deze prima verzorging de mooie mix van bestuur en leden die dit lustrum tot een erg geslaagde avond maakten. Nogmaals dank aan allen die nu en de afgelopen 40 jaar betrokkenzijn en waren bij ING Runners. Op naar de volgende mooie lopen.

On Sunday 13 November, after the Olympic stadium run, ING Runners celebrated its 40th anniversary.

It was located in restaurant Osteria Bella Ciao with a nice company of board, older members and new members.

I myself go back to about 2005 and I have done nice runs with many current and also former ING Runners. My first marathon was Vienna 2012 with the ING Runners and then there were always the stories of beautiful trips with New York as the highlight.

Next there were the annual highlights such as Egmond, Zeven Heuvelen, Amsterdam, Linschoten, etc.

It is good to see that the number of members is growing again and these new members show big enthusiasmm. That gives the current board, which has been putting effort into the club for years, also the power to continue to put its shoulders to the wheel. On behalf of the runners Thank you for this.  

Then back to dinner. Despite mid-November we were treated to wonderful weather. So drinks and bruschetta on the terrace. This tasted superb after the performance during the stadium run. The starter was followed by an excellent dinner as only Italians can do.

In addition to this very nice care, it was the beautiful mix of board and members that made this lustrum a very successful evening. Thanks again to all those who are and have been involved with ING Runners now and for the past 40 years. On to the next nice run.
